GACW Radio Countries list

The present is a compilation of information of diverse local and DX sources. This list has the intention to offer a shared in common service between the fans of the GACW and the entire world.

This is a tool of permanent consultation, that allows the DX operators to identify accurately, the stations of the different countries recognized by the ARRL for DXCC, DX Century Club, the only differences that you will be able to observe, are those in which our country has diferences of sovereignty and although it task is not the forum to dissolve them, we are convinced that this is the correct form to present/display them.

For these cases of the islands of the South Atlantic, an explanatory picture of the GACW exists at the end of the present that includes the Antarctica region.

The columns also contain information on the corresponding zones in which as much the IARU - Union the International of Radio hams and the magazine CQ Radio Amateur of EE. UU. of America divides the world.

In dissidence with the list of the DXCC and in agreement with it limits North, established for the Antartida by convention in the parallel of the 60 South degrees, will observe differences with some of the islands contained within this region. The Orcadas and Shetland are as it must be, within the Antartico continent. Whereas the Georgias and the Sandwich, despite being contained within limit of the "Covergencia Antartica", are to the north of the 60 degrees, they are considered sub-antarticas and for that reason they estan like SA.

Same we think that the regions of Central America and the Caribbean, muast be show separately because of cultural and geologic reasons as NA, but with the intention of not producing a greater confusion they stay like pertaining to NA.

By the tightened thing of the synthesis there are including greater details of the different reasons and criteria that have been used through the years to determine when an extension of territory is accepted like a radio country and when no, or under which circumstances take place new income in the list of areas with certain characteristics within another country. Despite it, it is interesting to emphasize some basic concepts of the criteria used for the election of a radius country in the present list of the DXCC, that is not another thing that the result of a constant evolution from 1945.

The following points constitute of by himself an incomplete enunciation, but, however, through the analysis of her you will be able to observe that there were occasions in which the rules were not respected faithfully.

Also criteria exist to determine that when modifying itself some of these points or others, that we do not reproduce by its extension, a zone lets compute itself valued, and as they are the rules to follow and necessary documents for the accreditation of a new country or an operation a place noninhabited, etc.

It is not our objective for transcribing the complete rules, since the same ones can obtain directed from the ARRL, 225 Main St., Newington, CT, the USA . The present publication can be copied without modifications and be distributed with the requirement to mention the source.

For the cases of special or little usual prefixes, we included the list of Blocks of Allocations of the Union the International of Telecommunications, by means of which it is possible to locate the property of the prefix that we do not recognize immediately. For example: LT5F this contained within block LOA to LWZ that belongs to Argentina. The same it happens with L20XSI or L8D/X contained in allocation L2A to L9Z

Now we wish the best one them of the successes during the long watches for the new search of DXs.
